Tender Opportunities in the EU

Europe Flags

Introduction

This final article in the series provides information on where UK and Irish firms can find tender opportunities in the wider EU. This builds on previous articles and provides a starting point (EU opportunities) for firms considering contracts outside the UK and Ireland.

Tender Opportunities in the EU

Tender opportunities in the EU can be found at both the Official Journal of the EU (OJEU) and Tenders Electronic Daily (TED). In particular many UK and Ireland firms benefit from accessing tendering opportunities from here.

This lists significant tender opportunities from all countries within the EU*, the European Economic Area (Norway and Iceland), candidate countries (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey) and Switzerland who have a government procurement agreement with the EU.

While a useful starting point this is a complex space and it is critical to have discussions with EU clients and potential clients to understand where they publish tender opportunities, as many will use a range of alternatives, particularly for contracts below EU thresholds.
